SAFARI GRAVEL RACE - RIFT VALLEY

ITEN - RIFT VALLEY

Setting off in the renowned "home of champions", the Rift Valley Gravel Race presents the most challenging route of the series. Riders will make their way across the Kerio Valley, featuring both fast and technical descents and meandering ascents on some of the best gravel roads Kenya has to offer. Participants can expect long climbs and face the test of high altitude throughout the race. This demanding course not only tests the endurance of participants but also rewards them with stunning views of the valley, making the Kerio Valley race a memorable and formidable event in the series.

The event offers multiple route options, catering for all abilities;

Cubs - Kids Zone (Fun skills and testing sessions)

Chui Route - 20km (1 Lap)

Duma Route - 60km (1 Lap of 20km + 1 Lap of 40km)

Simba Route - 120km (1 Lap of 20km + 1 Lap of 40km + 1 Lap of 60km)

During the event in Iten, participants must arrange their own accommodation. You can choose to stay at either a Hotel, a Bed & Breakfast or Campsite.

Camping Options:

Camping in Iten are numerous , with the closest campsite located directly opposite the race village. Experience Iten's view point from you tent and the perfect evening temperatures.

Campsite: Tirinya Campsite

Location: 100m from race village on rideable roads.

Price: $ (from KES 500)

Options: Bring your own tent. Showers and toilets available on site. Restaurant 50m away for convenient meals with a view.

Bike Drop Option

We have partnered with Wells Fargo to ensure all participants have access to bike transport for our events. Wells Fargo offer a courier service for a return bike transfer to and from Iten.

 

Those opting for this service will be required to drop off and pick up their bikes at these locations:
